happy ending

Wasn't it supposed to be a 'happy' ending?

As fifth formers, they simply detested to say thank you's and goodbye's. By the time the slide show was run, hundreds of blood-shot eyes stared at the screen. The pictures were so vividly sweet. Songs that eulogize the beauty of true friendship echoed in their ears, and their senses whirled.

Soon, tears in their eyes formed a thin layer of mist. They couldn't help but kept sobbing. Hugs.

I was one of 'them'. I couldn't escape this onslaught of sudden pain, thinking that we'll be venturing on separate paths. Some goodbye's, are forever.
